[Enter-Talk/TheQoo] So Disappointed in the Casting of When Life Gives You Tangerines—What Were They Thinking?

Park Bo-gum and IU are such well-known celebrities with strong personal identities that I just couldn’t see them as Gwansik and Aesoon. No matter how hard I tried, I only saw Park Bo-gum and IU, not the characters they were playing.

Also, since they’re both in their mid-30s, the school uniform scenes felt a little out of place. Like many others have pointed out, these roles might have been a better fit for rising actors in their mid-20s. Don’t get me wrong... they’re both incredibly talented and popular, but this casting choice was just a little disappointing.
